Dan was so excited about posting the pictures from the ski trip that he forgot to tell you about some of the funny things that happened.
The oddest thing that happened was that Dan woke up to me sleepwalking. Well, actually, I wasn't so much walking as I was trying to use the night stand as a toilet. Apparently, Dan woke up to me opening the night stand and when he asked me what I was doing, I was mumbling and upset with him for butting into my business! He got up with me and guided me to the appropriate and real toilet. I am happy to say that the night stand was saved!
During our second day of skiing, Dan lost one of his poles while getting on the lift. I was so nervous for him because we were going on one of the more difficult runs and it was getting a little icy. He made it down the mountain in one piece, but he was a little scared when he hit the icy patches. He just used his remaining pole like it was a balance beam pole, such a dare devil!
The craziest thing that I saw though happened when I was in the lobby waiting for Dan to load up the truck. The resort attracts many Japanese tourists. There was an American family in the lobby next to me that had a little boy who looked about 4 years old. One of the tourists came up to the family and was commenting on the little boy's cuteness and wanted to take a photo! Crazy, yes, but it just got weirder by the second because then she led the boy, (away from the family), to the poinsettia display to get a more festive photo. Just when I thought it was over, another group of tourists came up to the little boy to get his picture and then they started posing with him. It was bizarre and this little kid became an instant celebrity amongst the Japanese crowd! It is always entertaining to people-watch and a lobby is prime watching fun!
