Warm weather comes to town!

Today the weather climbed into the 40s! Finally, we are out of the minus degree temperatures! I think it will last through the weekend. The downside of the the balmy temperatures is that it rained and the snow is melting, creating one large ice rink over the city. Driving home yesterday from work, our truck almost slid off the road several times! After some debate we decided to take our regular route home that has a large hill. When we made the turn to climb the hill, there was a car in front of us that began sliding backwards and then we began to slide backwards too! It was so scary, luckily we slid right back onto the side road we came from, but the car that was in front of us turned sideways and ended up in the snow bank! Needless to say, we had to find an alternate route home!

Yesterday, along with Bradley, we walked/slid to the park to view some ice art that some locals made. They had an ice maze and they even froze a car in ice! It was nice to get out of the house. For dinner, we went to a theater/restaurant called Bear Tooth. It is like a Mugs and Movies. We ordered some pizza and beer and watched "Zak and Miri Make a Porn." It was a fun night out!

A couple of days ago there was a very large moose in our neighbors yard. They had left their fence open and she just cruised on in and was eating their tree. We kept trying to get a good picture, but we are obviously not good photographers. She eventually got tired of us snapping pictures and walked across the street and plopped down in someones yard! When she started moving, Dan was afraid she was going to step over the fence into our yard and charge at us, she certainly was tall enough! Since then, Dan is paranoid that we will go outside and be face to face with a moose ready to eat us.
Dan and I are still without a next assignment. We are holding our breath for something to open up, and we still have a couple of weeks before we need to panic. We weren't expecting our traveling to be so short lived, but we would also not be disappointed to come home. We are missing everyone!
