This morning Dan and I survived our first Earthquake! It was nothing like the movies, but it was still a little scary!
We were just sitting around this morning watching TV and I started to feel funny. I realized the house was shaking. Not like a violent shaking, but definitely not a the upstairs dog is bounding around the house kind of shaking either. It felt kind of like swaying, but faster, like a drunk feeling. After a few seconds of us wondering silently to ourselves if we were crazy, I said to Dan, "Is this an earthquake, or is that Qivi (upstairs dog)?" Dan was like, "I think your right, I was just wondering if I was drunk and didn't know it!" I got up and headed to a door frame and Dan put his shoes on to go outside and it was over. Just like that! No pictures out of place and the ground didn't split open and suck us in, we survived! The earthquake's center was just southwest of Anchorage, in the Inlet near us and was a 5.7. Pretty intense! Well, intense for us anyways, it didn't even make the local news!
