Seattle Fun

Today we decided to venture into Seattle and take a look around. The public transportation here is great, but to newbies like Dan and I, it is still a bit confusing. Our plan was to get to downtown Seattle and wander. I got on the Internet to try and find a bus route, but Dan, the man who freaks out when he is the slightest bit lost, thought it would be best to just wing it. Luckily, the bus stop one block from us is the one that takes us straight downtown, with no transfers, Yea! Once in Seattle, we headed for the public market. Here we found a neat place that makes cheese and sells deli type stuff. We got their mac and cheese, a sandwich, and... some cheese curds! It was all so delicious and made right there! Next, we went around the market for a bit and saw all the big crabs and fish and pretty flowers. You can get a flower arrangement with all the best flowers for $5-$20! It is awesome! We ended up at the Aquarium. It was cute, and fun to see some pacific coast creatures. After the aquarium we went on a harbor tour around Elliot Bay and the Puget Sound. The guide told us a lot of fun things about Seattle and the surrounding area. It was a beautiful sunny day, so we were able to see Mt. Rainier too. It was so pretty!
After making it home safely, we went to a local pizza place for dinner and stopped by to pick up some movies, (our local Comcast can not install our cable until Friday, so until then, it's movies).
Tomorrow we start our first day of work. It is only hospital orientation, so at least we are eased into things a bit. I think we are both still pretty nervous. However, I am reading a book about fear and how to overcome it and cope with it, something that I struggle with enormously. I still have not taken Bradley for a walk here by myself! Maybe once I have read the book...
p.s. the starbucks that we took a picture of the store front is the first starbucks! Now they are everywhere! And that is not an exaggeration, there are 12 within 4 miles of us! Also, I put up a picture of Mt. Rainier, it is a little hard to see, but in person it was awesome!
